Tenleytown Main Street, Washington D.C. Metro Station Entrance Public Art Project
Tamao Nakayama created a public artwork for the Metropolitan Area Transit Authority and Tenleytown Main Street. The project features a set of four artworks: ‘Baby On Board,’ ‘Kids In Motion,’ ‘Skater In Motion,’ and ‘Seniors In Motion.’
The city needed to hide and beautify ongoing construction at the site, so Tamao designed a series that celebrates the healthy and active community around Tenleytown. She coordinated with the town to select colors that would be most visible to motorists.
